Philosophy of Christian Development

Spiritual DevelopmentChrist Lutheran School seeks to follow God's wisdom in growing as His people and fulfilling the purpose He has for every life as seen in God's call to train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not part from it (Proverbs 22:6).

  • We believe that God is our loving Father and we are His children.
  • We believe because of our imperfection, everyone needs a Savior.
  • We believe God sent His only Son, Jesus, to die for our sins.
  • We believe that those who believe in Jesus' death and resurrection are His disciples.

Our goal in spiritual development is to lead students to be more like Jesus and to help others be more like Jesus. Our church calls this, Developing Dynamic Disciples for Christ.

Teacher Training

Spiritual DevelopmentAll of the full-time teachers and the principal at Christ Lutheran School are synodically trained by the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. This means that through their undergraduate work or through a colloquy process each teacher has specifically been trained in Christian doctrine to teach faith to children and adolescents, and how to effectively integrate the Christian faith in all academic areas.

Each of our teachers is an active member of Christ Lutheran Church. They live out lives of faithful service not only in their commitment to their students and our school but to the general benefit of the Christ Lutheran Church family as well.

Christian Instruction

Spiritual DevelopmentAll students receive Christian education as part of their daily curriculum four days a week. Memorization of Scripture, Christian prayer, and creeds are part of this Christian instruction process. Christian beliefs are an important and key element in everyday classroom curriculum and activities.

All Christian instruction is focused on God's Word. Using a variety of resources, our students are taught the truths of Scripture. This includes learning Bible stories, discussing and applying of God's commands, accepting God's incredible love for us, our response to God's incredible love, and the discovery and use of our spiritual gifts. We strive to teach each child the saving grace of God's love and how to live out God's purpose for our lives.

School Chapel

Each Wednesday morning at 8:40 a.m. all the students at Christ Lutheran School gather for worship in our church sanctuary. Our chapel service is designed to give our students a weekly worship experience, including singing praises to God, a brief message, prayer, and closing pledges and songs.

Chapel is led by a variety of presenters. Each of our classrooms presents a chapel message once a year. Our teaching staff, church staff, and additional special guests are included in our chapel services.

Chapel is a very special time for our students. We encourage parents and guests to join us for this weekly worship experience.
